Chemerical On Super Channel

Nisker gained notoriety by his runaway 2008 indie enviro hit Garbage!, which was an official selection of the Hot Docs 2008 Film Festival in Toronto as well as the United Nations Association Film Festival in San Francisco. It received special mention awards in the 2008 Cinemambiente Italian Enviro Film Festival, the Green Film Festival in Seoul Korea, and last month at the Festival International Pique Film d'Environnement Paris. Garbage! has enjoyed screenings at film festivals worldwide including China, Malaysia and Mexico.

The successful online grass roots sales and distribution model - coupled with community engagement is a strategy that was used for Garbage!, and laid the ground work and established a model for how Take Action Films distributes and sells films worldwide, directly and via other online social media channels.

The unique online networking enables Nisker and his growing list of indie filmmakers to outreach to and build audiences through - not just broadcasters and theatrical outlets - but many other organizations and educational institutions.

For Chemerical, the website www.chemicalnation.com includes additional information on how individuals can detoxify their homes using a downloadable checklist as their guide.  In addition the site allows users to participate in the community by registering the number of toxic products they removed from their homes after viewing the film. The number is then added to a running tally that gages the overall impact Chemerical is having on detoxifying communities world wide.  Viewers are encouraged to host screening parties where any individual, family, business or corporation can be the host. Those interested are asked to purchase a film, download a screening package complete with action items, and are encouraged to record their reactions and thoughts. This feedback can then be shared with a global online community.
